Hope Program

The HOPE Program (Honoring Our Professors' Excellence) is an opportunity for Resident Assistants to bring together faculty and students for meals to discuss research interests and intellectual topics in a less formal setting.  Faculty participants represent a wide range of disciplines and often are the instructors of first year student classes.  Up to six students are permitted to attend each HOPE dinner in order to maximize the opportunity for interaction.  Residents are encouraged to ask their RAs to set up a HOPE program for the floor.

Chautauqua Series

The Chautauqua Series is facilited by the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Education and is another opportunity for residents to interact with faculty in the residential setting.  Several times each semester, Duke faculty are invited into the residence halls to present a lecture and host a catered dinner for the residents.  For more information about the Chautauqua Series, please visit the website of the Dean of Undergraduate Education.
