RA Application Process, 2010-2011 Academic Year

All applications must be submitted via our online process.  Candidates are strongly encouraged to attend an information session prior to submitting an application.  The application consists of several questions, including three essay questions.  Candidates are able to save their application at any point.  Candidates are encouraged to review their application before submitting their final application

Essay Responses
We strongly recommend that you type your essay responses in a Word application so that you have the ability to save your responses in the event that the application times out. That way you can save your responses and then paste your responses into the web application.

References
Each candidate is required to submit the name of one individual who would be able to speak to your potential ability to be an RA.   If currently living on campus, you should attempt to list an RLHS affiliated member as your reference (ex: Resident Assistant, Graduate Resident, Residence Coordinator).  If not currently living on-campus, please list someone who would be able to evaluate your ability to be a good RA.  Examples include a professor, advisor, coach, etc.  Please do not list your roommate or a relative for your reference.

References will receive a link from RLHS in January to fill out a reference form on your behalf.
We encourage all candidates to contact their reference prior to submitting an application to ask if they are willing to fill out a form for you.

The deadline for all reference forms is Friday February 5.

Interview Process
There will be two rounds of interviews for new RA candidates.
First Round: Monday January 25 – Friday January 29
Second Round: Friday February 5

Scheduling Your Interviews
On Tuesday January 19, 2010, candidates who have submitted applications will be sent a link to schedule their first and second round interview online.  First round interviews will take place Monday January 25 – Friday January 29.  The majority of candidates will have first round interviews in the quad/neighborhood that they currently live in.  NOTE: Upper-class students whose first preference is to be an RA on East Campus, will be instructed to schedule their first round interview with an East Campus RC and their RA Team.  Second round interviews will take place on Friday February 5 (site: TBD).
