2009-2010 Undergraduate License to Occupy Residence Hall or Central Campus Space

Duke University licenses each resident to occupy a residence hall or Central Campus Apartment space for the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 semesters when University housing is officially open for occupancy.  Residence Life and Housing Services publishes the official residence hall and apartment opening and closing dates and recess periods.  This License automatically terminates if a resident officially withdraws, graduates or ceases for any reason to be a full-time, degree-seeking student.

Each resident has read and agrees to abide by the Terms Under Which Duke University Licenses Occupancy of Central Campus Apartments and Residence Hall Spaces to Undergraduate Residents. Occupancy is conditional upon compliance with these Terms and all applicable University Regulations including the Duke Community Standard and the policies that flow from it. If a resident violates these Terms or Regulations, the University may revoke this License and may refuse to license the resident for any occupancy period in the future.  These Terms and University Regulations are subject to reasonable changes and each resident agrees to abide by such changes.   Notification of changes to these Terms or University Regulations is generally made by email to a resident’s University email account.

The violation of any applicable federal, state, or local law may be reason for revocation of this License.

Each resident agrees to pay the University the rate corresponding to the type of space assigned. If the University revokes this License because of violation of any Terms or University Regulations, the resident must vacate the space immediately and the University shall not refund any portion of the payment made for the full Period of this License if the resident remains enrolled at the University.  If a resident officially withdraws, graduates, or ceases for any reason to be a full-time, degree-seeking student, the resident must vacate the assigned space within forty-eight (48) hours or the official move-out date at the end of the semester, whichever comes first. Residents will be charged for housing based on the number of days they occupy the assigned space and will receive a credit if appropriate.  The number of days the space was occupied will be determined according to the date Residence Life and Housing Services inspects the space and confirms that the space has been vacated.
