Facilities Available


All apartments come with basic furnishings, including a dining room table and chairs in the dining area, a stove, sink and refrigerator in the kitchen; a couch, lamp, and end tables in the living area, a chest of drawers, bookcase and desk for each bed provided in the bedrooms. All complexes have ample closet space and come equipped with window coverings. Linens, housekeeping supplies, and cookware are the responsibility of the residents.

Bus service is provided at regular intervals between Central Campus and other areas of the University. West Campus, where most classes and library facilities are located, is a short bus ride or a quick walk from the Central Campus complex.

A small 32 unit complex of 2 bedroom town house apartments is located on Swift Avenue, between Central Campus and East Campus. This complex has only graduate and professional student housing and features an outdoor swimming pool. Laundry facilities are provided at Central Campus.

Central Campus boasts an outdoor swimming pool, two lighted basketball courts, four lighted tennis courts, and a covered shelter and picnic grounds. These recreational facilities are located beside Uncle Harry's General Store which offers a variety of groceries and products.

A computer cluster with a copy machine is found at 218 Alexander Avenue and is available to students with a valid DukeCard. Add to this list the basketball court on Pace Street, and the many clusters of laundry facilities located throughout Central Campus, and the picture is complete.

Pets are not permitted in any residential facility at Duke University.
