West Campus
West Campus in organized into six residential quads - Craven, Crowell/Wannamaker, Edens, Few, Keohane, and Kilgo - each managed by a live-in Residence Coordinator. Quads are also staffed by one Graduate Assistant and 10-16 Resident Assistants. Edens and Few Quads are also home to a Faculty-in-Residence. In as part of the larger community of students, each quad is home to smaller communities of students who are affiliated with either selective living groups or living learning communities.
- Academically themed or sponsored (Languages, Arts, Round Table, Prism, SHARE, and Anne Firor Scott Womenâs Studies)
- Fraternity sponsored (Alpha Epsilon Pi, Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Delta Sigma Phi, Kappa Alpha, Phi Delta Theta, Pi Kappa Alpha, Psi Upsilon, Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu, Sigma Phi Epsilon)
- Social selective living groups (Brownstone, Wayne Manor, Maxwell, and Mirecourt)
- Living/Learning Communities (Baldwin Scholars and Wellness)
Programming and Leadership
Each student pays a residential program fee to fund programs and events sponsored by staff and the Quad Council of each Quad. Programs include a variety of activities such as Habitat for Humanity projects, tutoring in the Durham schools, trips to the Holocust Museum in Washington DC, ski trips to the North Carolina ski slopes, dinners with faculty members, outdoor bands, hot air balloon rides, and karaoke, movie, and casino nights.
Special residential programs and activities are planned and jointly sponsored by Residence Life and Housing Services, Pratt School of Engineering, Trinity College of Arts and Sciences, and other University and student groups.
Quad Councils provide leadership opportunities for residents interested in improving the quality of life on campus in addition to planning programs that meet needs of their respective communities. Examples of initiatives that have enchanced student safety and quality of life include improvement of landscaping and grounds around residences, additional lighting in areas frequented by students after dark, locks on residence hall bathrooms, additional seating benches on main quad, and various common area amenities.
