As Dean and Executive Director, Eddie has overall responsibility for the planning and delivery of programs and services that comprise and enhance the Duke residential experience. He provides direction from which the RLHS leadership team implements initiatives which support communities that enhance the academic mission of the university.

Holding two degrees from The University of Arizona, Eddie began his residence life and housing career in 1979 at the U of A. After leadership responsibilities that included facilities operations, finance and administration, and residential life, Eddie left his alma mater in 1996 to become Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Southern Methodist University where he assumed leadership of the residential life and housing program. Eddie was recruited to Duke in 2002 to lead the newly formed department of residence life and housing services.

Actively engaged in service to his profession, Eddie has served in numerous leadership roles for the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International, including as its president in 2004-05. His interests include golf, reading and travel.
