RLHS Strategic Plan

Residence Life and Housing Services will pursue goals that complement the goals and objectives articulated in the university’s planning documents and, as important, respond to its defining principles. Our goals include:

RLHS will develop students who are committed to global citizenship - defined as an individual who values connection to others, sustainability of the environment, leadership within his/her community, and consistency between actions and values.

We will empower students to become more engaged with their own educations, integrating knowledge across their classes and into their own lives.

We will develop our staff and student leaders in ways that help them make a difference.

We will provide facilities that enhance the residential experience.

We will marshal human, physical, and financial resources in ways that best support established priorities, and still provide for flexible response to unexpected opportunities.

We will incorporate assessment into the culture of RLHS to assist in planning and evaluation to determine how effectively we meet our stated mission and student learning and development outcomes.

We will implement a strategic marketing plan that informs students, parents, and the Duke community of our programs and services, highlights our accomplishments and achievements, and promotes the RLHS mission.
